Roccone Festival 2011

Culture, music, sport, environmental and social issues, magical atmospheres: these are the ingredients of Roccone Festival 2011, one of the most awaited summer events in the area of Siena and in Tuscany altogether. The festival celebrates its 9th anniversary, and it will take place on the wonderful square of Piancastagnaio, at the foot of the amazing castle Aldobrandi, from 25th to 31st July 2011.

Different important exhibitions are organized inside the medieval castle, each one dealing with one of the main topics: from voluntary work to recycling, from street safety to the treasures of countryside, with theatre and musical events and sport, together with the feast in honor of the 150th anniversary of Italian unification, celebrated with a tasty road dinner.

Every day is dedicated to a different topic, which will be analyzed also thanks to videos, meetings and cooperation with other institutions, like the Comunità Montana Amiata Val d'Orcia and other sports and voluntary organizations.

Music will be the background of every day: the "Roccone Music Contest" is a musical contest with budding bands, an occasion to be heard and appreciated by the audience. Food stands, piano bar and open air disco will also be part of the festival.

Sports fans can take part to the 3rd tournament "Roccone Beach Volley",, as well as to table tennis, table football and cards games.

The guys of Roccone Staff – real pillars of this multidiscipline event – will welcome visitors and tourists inside the castle, guiding them to the Roccone Festival.
