This palace takes its name from the street Rugapiana that means flat street. Rugapiana is the only flat street that can be found in the historical centre of Cortona. Today Rugapiana is the main street, closed to traffic of this Etruscan town that offers tourists the chance to go back into the past centuries.

In the middle of the main road an ancient palace has been restored into apartments with a kitchenette and rooms with a bathroom. Every apartment maintains the ancient local stone wall, fired brick floors and wooden beamed floors, respecting the architecture of the past. Every apartment is furnished with antique pieces of furniture. The structure offers: two-room apartment(1 double room, 1 bathroom, 1 kitcken); three-room apartment (2 double rooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 kitcken); double bedrooms with bathroom; top floor attic (1 double room, 1 bathroom, 1 kitcken). Prices including water, light, heating, gas and laundry. Check-in by 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.; check-out by 10 a.m. * The hotel management informs that it would NOT accept 'American Express' cards, neither as a guarantee nor as form of payment.

The Palace is in the ideal location for guests who want to visit the historical town centre by walking along its Etruscan streets, churches and museums or driving (parking lots are just 100 meters away from the centre. From Cortona you may easily reach some of the most famous art towns such as Florence (100 km), Arezzo (25 km), Siena (50 km), Perugia (40 km), Assisi (60 km), Spoleto (70 km) Gubbio (50 km), and Mount Amiata (40 km).
