The climatic health resort of Carda is set at 714 m asl and it enjoys a wonderful weather, as it located south-east and is protected by the mountains to the north, with mild winters and fresh summers.

The main activities are linked to the wood (chestnut wood, in particular), to the building trade, trout breeding practised by private citizens and by the Province of Arezzo, and, last but not least, to mushroom collection. It is a well-preserved town almost completely built with stones, in effect also the internal streets are paved with stones.
Since 1984, a big town festival called "Estate Cardese" has been celebrated each summer from the first half of July to the first half of August on Saturdays and Sundays. Games, tastings, local food cooking and dances take place inside the wonderful rooms of the multifunctional building and in the square in front of it.
Moreover, a Cockaigne festival is celebrated at the beginning of Spring and on this occasion people can taste the traditional food of the mountains ("polenta " with chestnuts and sausages, buttermilk curd and cheese)
The Community of Carda also issues the two-monthly magazine "Foglie Lunghe" with the news of the town and other information.
