The Michelangiolesco Museum was officially opened in 1964, in homage to the artist, on the occasion of the celebration of the 400th anniversary of the death of Michelangelo,
evertheless it's origins date back to 1875, the year in the which the 400th anniversary of his birth was celebrated in Caprese.
The Museum includes the house where Michelangelo was born (XIV cent.), the Clusini Palace (XIV cent.), the rooms of the "Rocca" fortress and the area outside, among the remains of the old castle built in the Middle Ages.
